it is a core competency on where a nurse practitioner needs to think critically and applies
evidenced-based approaches to improve practice, it also improves knowledge from the humanities and
other disciplines to inform one's work in nursing. it includes also knowledge and understanding on
clinical practice guidelines, evidenced-based practices, translational research, and treatment of
vulnerable and diverse patient populations.
Leadership
it embraces high leadership opportunities to facilitate change, applies creative and critical
thinking, acts as an advocate for resources and cost efficacy for quality care. it elevates practice for
innovating practices and initiate professional associations, advocacy groups and other activities that will
improve health care. Lastly it can improve one's oral and written communications.
